We often get asked if shockwave therapy can help premature ejaculation. Most men are undergoing shockwave to improve erectile function, but yes, men often comment that their control of ejaculation is better after a series of treatments.

Since the vast majority of studies and data about shockwave have been around Erectile Dysfunction, this is where the therapy is actively promoted and is approved for.

But lately there have been some smaller studies looking at PE as an endpoint, and the therapy does show promise here, just as we are hearing anecdotally from patients.

Since shockwave improves penile blood supply and promotes nerve regeneration and repair, it is proposed that the treatment inhibits hyperactive nerve excitability, and increases the ejaculatory threshold.

Relaxation of tense pelvic floor muscles with shockwave could also improve Premature Ejaculation.

Since there aren’t a lot of larger studies for shockwave and Premature Ejaculation at this time, you won’t see active promotion.
But one of the main benefits of shockwave is that it has no significant side effects and is exceedingly safe. Men do the therapy for many reasons, for mild ED, or for health maintenance to keep the tissues of the penis and pelvic floor as healthy as possible.

So doing the therapy for Premature Ejaculation as one concern, can also have other health benefits for the pelvic region, and being concerned about PE is a valid contributor to a treatment decision, with acknowledgement that there is less data here than for other conditions.
